For today, I’d like to share with you “I’m Proud To Be An African“, an instant catchy Electro Afro Boogie Funk Rap track from Cameroun with killer bass lines & DX7 synth parts, taken from the only LP recorded by the mysterious Cameroonian composer & musician Lover Genns (any infos are welcome !), native from the city of Bamenda (West Cameroon).
Released in 1988 on the legendary Nigerian record label “Coconut“, this album features great west-cameroonian & Nigerian musicians as Tony Benson (from the former 70s Nigerian Rock band “The Hykkers”) on DX7 Synthesizers, Jonel Cross (from the Cameroonian band “Baad John Cross”), Basil Barap & Maah Simon.
Almost invisible nowadays, every track is a dance floor burner – Hope you’ll like it, enjoy !
