For today, I wanted to share with you “Keep On Dancing“, an instant killer Afro Disco Boogie track from Ghana, recorded in 1979 by the composer & musician Kofi “Kiki’ Kwarko Gyan, keyboardist of the legendary band Osibisa that was popular in the 1970’s.

Multi-instrumentist Kiki Gyan recorded three albums and a couple of singles between 1979 & 1983, and was considered by many as Africa’s answer to Stevie Wonder.

For today, I’m glad to share with you this instant feel-good song, that will set any dance floor on fire. Hope you’ll like it, enjoy !

BLO – Roots

Following to this former article, I wanted to share with you for today “Roots“, an instant killer Afro Disco Boogie Boogie track from Nigeria, recorded in 1979 and taken from the fifth and last album of the legendary band “BLO“, named in reference to the initials of its founders :

Berkley “Ike” Jones (guitar)

Olaoluwa “Laolu Akins” Akintobi (drums) ;

Mike “Gbenga” Odumosu (bass) ;

Odumosu left the band later and was replaced by Lemmy “Otu” Udofa (also known as “Lemmy Jackson” in his 80s solo carrer !).

This song is always a dance floor burner when I play it in my DJ Set, hope you’ll like it and dance – Enjoy !

Vincent Toko And Justin Naoussi – Fly No More

For today, I wanted to share with you “Fly No More“, an obscure but catchy Afro Boogie Disco Synth track, taken from the only album recorded in 1980s by the Nigerian musicians Vincent Toko and Justin Naoussi, and produced by Jake Sollo, mythical figure of the Nigerian musical scene from the 70s to the 90s, and that includes many legendary figures from this era such as :

– Vincent Toko (Arrangements & Composition, Bass Guitar, Percussion, Vocals ) ;

– Justin Naoussi (Arrangements & Composition, Guitar, Percussion, Vocals) ;

– Christine Odita, Julia Aggrey, Kate Cambell, Lade Kong Gbulie, Ngozi Oraelosi, Princess Bunmi Olajubu, Teddy “Mens” Mensah, Tina Onwudiwe (Backing Vocals) ;
